Hello and welcome to CreativeNerds.co.uk. I’ve just got a quick tip to show to you on how to create Chrome text effect using Photoshop. OK, so let’s start off by creating a new document. So we’re going to head over to file, new and then I’m going to set a width of 800 pixels and a height of 600 pixels and select OK. So, a new comment box will open up and zoom in. So, we’re going to start off by grabbing the type tool and all we’re going to do is type up some random text. And be sure the text size is about 169.

The second tutorial we’re going to do is create a text. We’re going to grab the rectangle tool, move back to even the paint bucket tool and change the foreground color to black. Select the OK button. Select a new layer and we’re going to fill a new layer with black from the paint bucket tool and move that layer behind it. It just types in. We’re going to center the text into the middle of the document and then going to head over to type layer. Right click on it and select limited options. So, we’re going to select the drop shadow and we’re going to set the foreground color to black, the shadow color, and be sure to select the blend mode, multiply. Angle punch and twenty set are the same. We want the distance to be three, we want the spread to be zero and the size to be six.

And then, we’re going to head over to the next option, which is in the shadow and we’re going to keep the blend mode as multiply and the color as black, but we’re going to change the [inaudible] down to 56% and keep angle up 120. We’re going to change the distance to eight. We’re going to change the spread to zero, so that stays the same. Then, we’re going to add size to 12. Then, we’re going to head over to the contour. We want the contour to be the second option to choose from and then we’re going to go to overlay. The blend mode is going to be normal and the color is going to be white. So you can see basically 6x, so press the OK button. And then we’re going to keep capacity the same.

Then, we’re going to head over to bevel and emboss. I’m simply just going to go change the style to in the bevel, so that remains the same. We want the technique to be smooth. The depth to be 81%. Direction will be up. Size, five. Softness, zero. So, you can pretty much stay the same. And then we’re going to go into the shading, which we’re going to angle 110, which remains the same and altitude of 36.

And then, we’re going to change the contour to rim double. More appropriately, we’re keeping the name of each one and this one’s called rim doubles, this is the one that we want to select so we’re going to click it. And then we’re going to head over to opacity. When opacity remains at 75%. The shadow mode will remain at multiply in black and we change the capacity to 79%.

Next, we will select contour and all we’re going to do is ensure the linear is the first linear. And then we’re going to change the range to 47 and then select the OK button. [inudible, select the simple Chrome text effect using Photoshop, just using Photoshop styles. And now this type is editable, so you can change it around and put whatever text you want to. See, that’s my name. So, I don’t know. It’s editable so you can save it and use it for other projects. You can make it bigger, smaller, change the font. It’s totally up to you.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this tutorial and thanks for watching. And stay tuned to Creative Nerds for further screencasts.
